Boxer - Large - Adult - Female - Dog - Susie

My puppies and I nearly died in the desert where we were dumped. We ended up in a the county shelter in Phoenix, where we were hours away from being put down. A kind rescue person looked at my pretty face, and couldn't let that happen. We're now living in Tucsonwith a bunch of cats, and I don't even like cats! I'm a very sweet, smart girl, and I love to be with people. I learned "sit" and "off" (when I get excited and jump on someone) in just a few days, and after a few weeks at my foster home, I've become calm and well-behaved. I am completely house-broken, even when my foster mom has been gone and left me inside for 10 hours. I love to chew, so it's always best to leave me with several chewable toys or treats. I do well in a crate, so crating me when you're gone during the day is OK with me. As long as I get plenty of loving and attention when you do come home! I've traveled by car with my foster mom, and I like that. I've stayed overnight in a motel too, and that was fine. I was very good, only barked once (someone was outside our door!) and slept through the night on my own bed on the floor. I did think that desk chair was a chew toy, but mom diverted me with a real chew toy. It's important to keep me occupied, so I don't get confused about things like that. Wooden furniture is especially tasty, you know. Susie has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and is ready for her very own home. She's a healthy and happy dog, and is energetic. She needs a yard to play in, and people to play with her. She isn't leash trained yet, and will need that training if you want her to be well-behaved on a leash. Susie needs a home without cats, but would probably do OK with a male dog who isn't a pit bull or mix. Introducing them properly is a must. She'd also shine as an only pet, and would thrive on the attention and play time she'd get from children in the home.Rescued dogs are placed into foster homes and not kept at our sanctuary so please let us know if you would like to meet Susie!
